This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Clubs ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information obtained from users ("you" or "your") of the Clubs mobile application ("App" or "Service"). The Service is a platform designed to match college students with creative project collaborators.

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.

Section 1 — Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

In the course of creating an account and using the Service, you may provide us with the following categories of personal information:

(a) Full legal name;
(b) Email address;
(c) Phone number, collected and verified through Twilio's authentication service;
(d) University or educational institution affiliation (if provided); and
(e) Any additional information you voluntarily submit through your profile or project listings.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access or interact with the Service, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including but not limited to:

(a) Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers;
(b) App usage data, including features accessed, session duration, and interaction patterns; and
(c) Crash reports, error logs, and performance diagnostics.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Service Providers

We utilize Twilio, Inc. ("Twilio") to facilitate phone number verification during account registration. Twilio processes your phone number in accordance with its own privacy policy. We do not receive any personal data from Twilio beyond the verification status of your phone number.

Section 2 — Use of Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

(a) To create, authenticate, and maintain your user account;
(b) To facilitate matching between users and creative project opportunities;
(c) To deliver push notifications regarding matches, messages, and relevant account activity;
(d) To improve, personalize, and optimize the functionality and user experience of the Service;
(e) To monitor, analyze, and report on usage trends and application performance; and
(f) To enforce our Terms of Service and protect the safety, rights, and property of our users and the Company.

Section 3 — Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may disclose your information only under the following limited circumstances:

(a) Legal Obligation. We may disclose your information where required by applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other enforceable governmental or regulatory request.

(b) Protection of Rights and Safety. We may disclose your information where we believe, in good faith, that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the Company, our users, or the general public.

(c) Service Providers. We may share limited information with third-party service providers engaged to support the operation of the Service, including Twilio (phone verification) and Supabase (data storage and infrastructure). Such providers are contractually bound to use your data solely for the purposes of providing services to us and to maintain appropriate safeguards.

Section 4 — Data Storage and Security

All user data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, Inc. We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of electronic transmission or data storage is entirely secure. Accordingly, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot and do not guarantee its absolute security.

Section 5 — Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the Service. Upon receipt of a valid account deletion request, we will delete your personal data within thirty (30) calendar days, except where retention is required by applicable law or necessary for legitimate business purposes, including but not limited to dispute resolution and enforcement of agreements.

Section 6 — Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

(a) Right of Access. You may request a copy of the personal information we maintain about you.

(b) Right of Correction. You may request that we correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

(c) Right of Deletion. You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data, subject to the retention provisions set forth in Section 5.

(d) Right to Opt Out of Notifications. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

To exercise any of the foregoing rights, please submit a written request to supportclubs@gmail.com. We will endeavor to respond to all verified requests within thirty (30) calendar days.

Section 7 — Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data by submitting a written request via email to supportclubs@gmail.com. Upon verification of your identity, we will process the deletion within thirty (30) calendar days and provide written confirmation upon completion.

Section 8 — Age Restriction

The Service is intended solely for individuals who are eighteen (18) years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal information from any individual under the age of eighteen (18).

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from an individual under the age of eighteen (18), we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records. If you believe that a minor has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately at supportclubs@gmail.com.

Section 9 — Push Notifications

The Service may deliver push notifications to your mobile device regarding account activity, matches, messages, and other relevant updates. You may opt out of receiving push notifications at any time by modifying the notification settings on your device. Please note that opting out of push notifications may limit certain features and functionality of the Service.

Section 10 — Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to websites, applications, or services operated by third parties. This Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of any third party. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service before providing personal information.

Section 11 — Amendments to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify or update this Policy at any time in our sole discretion. In the event of a material change, we will update the "Effective Date" and "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and provide notice to users through push notification or in-app notice.

Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to the updated terms.

Section 12 — Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
